The company offers the opportunity to those who wish to express interest in the position of ‘Junior Engineer’, for its premises in Chalkidiki. The position will be reported to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer of the Technical department in Olympiada.

Main Responsibilities:

Backfill:

·      Design and develop drift fill notes, backfill schedules, and backfill network.

·      Backfill QA/QC monitoring and reporting.

·      Developing backfill mine schedule and mine backfill infrastructure requirements.

·      Coordinate between backfill plant and mining operations to meet a backfill schedule that satisfies the mine’s production requirements.

·      Interact with commercial teams and suppliers for backfill materials.

·      Planning and monitoring of paste reticulation system to enable the drift filling sequence.

·      Monitor the backfill quality and analyze the downtime trends to ensure consistent end-product.

Geotechnical:

·      Ground control inspection and design audits of operating underground mine.

·      Assisting in managing and maintaining relevant and up to date Ground Control Management Plan and Mine Design.

·      Analyzing relevant data to ascertain proper performance of designs and take action as required.

·      Underground inspections not limited to stopes, voids, active development headings, infrastructure, rises, shafts etc.

·      Ground support design and QA/QC monitoring and maintain database of support performance.

·      Analysis of geotechnical data (face mapping and geotechnical logging), and empirical rock mass classification including development.

Mine Planning:

·      Detailed short-term layouts including the required infrastructure from mid-term plans.

·      Liaising with geology, mine operations, and other technical services groups to ensure the tactical plan targets can be achieved and the appropriate designs are created.

·      Updating and maintaining 3D CAD model of weekly plans, designs, and service requirements.

·      Reconciliation of plan compliance and stope performances.

·      Provide operational and technical support through mine plan and schedule, design and implementation.

·      Identify new or alternate ideas and concepts that can be used to improve the business.

Requirements:

·      Degree in Mining & Metallurgical Engineering or in Mineral Resources Engineering or in related field.

·      A post graduate degree would be considered as an asset.

·      At least 2 years of experience in mine planning, design &/or mining for an underground mine operation.

·      Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English languages.

·      Proficient computer knowledge of MS Office, Deswik and Autodesk Packages.

·      Good ability for both teamwork and individual performance of tasks.

·      Good ability to take responsibility.

·      Driving License.
