The University of Nicosia Medical School (UNIC Athens) invites applications from motivated academics for a Teaching and Research Faculty position in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Genetics, based in Athens, Greece. We particularly welcome applicants whose work engages contemporary developments in precision medicine, digital health, and AI-informed biomedical research and medical education.

Essential Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Genetics or a closely related discipline
• Proven record of undergraduate and / or postgraduate teaching relevant to the subject area
• Research portfolio and publication record commensurate with the rank sought
• Excellent command of English

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, and regularly update content relevant to their field across the curriculum of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme and postgraduate programmes. The successful candidate will be expected to engage students through innovative teaching methods, fostering critical thinking, professional values and ethical practice.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to students, including advising on research projects, theses, and career development.
• Conduct high-impact research in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Genetics, securing external funding to establish and sustain these programmes.
• Disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences.
• Serve on Departmental and School committees and assist with strategic planning and development.
• Advance the School’s mission by leading community outreach initiatives, holding leadership roles in relevant professional societies, and building strategic partnerships with healthcare and regulatory organisations.
