The University of Nicosia invites applications for the role of Librarian for our upcoming Athens campus. This role is instrumental in delivering high-quality library services to students, faculty, and staff, while promoting academic success and fostering information literacy within the university community.

Key Responsibilities:
Library Services & User Support
- Deliver in-person library services and assist users with understanding library systems and resources.
- Provide guidance on library use, circulation procedures, and access to both digital and physical collections.
- Conduct library orientation sessions and user training workshops.
Library Administration & Development
- Collaborate with the Director of Libraries at the main campus in Nicosia to ensure quality and consistency of services.
- Maintain and update library policies, informational materials, and operational procedures.
- Liaise with other departments for library-related needs, including resource purchase requests.
Cataloguing & Resource Management
- Create and maintain bibliographic records in the library management system, using international cataloguing and classification standards.
- Coordinate circulation services with internal and external libraries.
Communication & Outreach
- Develop and manage content for the library's social media platforms and website.
- Support the development, analysis, and improvement of user satisfaction surveys.
Team Support & Special Projects
- Assist in the training of new library staff as needed.
- Participate in library-related initiatives and special projects as assigned by the Director of Libraries.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science or a related field is required.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in a university library setting is considered an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Familiarity with integrated library systems, cataloguing standards, and procedures.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Competence in user education and digital outreach.
- Fluency in both Greek and English.
