UNIC Athens, the University of Nicosia's academic and research base in Greece, combining internationally ranked teaching with state-of-the-art facilities, is seeking a Graphic Designer (Mid-Weight) to join its team.
This role will take ownership of medium- to large-scale design projects across digital, print, and environmental applications, ensuring high-quality execution and alignment with UNIC’s brand standards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing the brand across Athens — including municipal-area branding, signage and wayfinding, environmental graphics, campus collateral, digital campaigns, and web assets. The role requires strong design judgment, technical execution, and the ability to operate independently while coordinating with Nicosia’s Design Unit.
Responsibilities:
Design Leadership & Execution
- Lead the production of design deliverables across print, digital, and environmental formats.
- Translate brand guidelines into consistent, polished visual executions for the Athens market.
- Manage design projects from concept through to final delivery with minimal oversight.
- Prepare print-ready files and coordinate with printers and vendors when necessary.
Digital & Web
- Produce and refine digital assets using Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Oversee updates to WordPress content and visual components.
- Apply sound layout, UI/UX and responsive design principles where relevant.
Environmental & Campus Applications
- Lead the visual development of campus signage, wayfinding, and municipal-area branding.
- Conduct on-site visual checks, gather measurements, and collaborate with fabricators.
- Ensure consistency of environmental graphics across the Athens expansion.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Operations
- Work closely with academic and administrative teams to gather requirements, provide design recommendations, and present concepts.
- Maintain an organized Athens-based design archive and documentation system.
- Assist in briefing and guiding junior designers or freelancers when needed.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of professional graphic design experience (agency or in-house preferred).
- Demonstrated experience handling multi-medium projects with autonomy.
Required Skills:
- Excellent proficiency in Figma for digital design and layout systems.
- Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
- Strong understanding of print production, signage specifications, and vendor coordination.
- Solid experience with WordPress content updates.
- Awareness of UI/UX best practices.
- Experience with environmental graphics is an advantage.
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS is a plus.
