We are looking for a highly skilled Procurement Engineer for Building and Civil Engineering Projects to join our team.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Source and evaluate suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best value while mitigating risks
- Conduct new business contracts and manage suppliers’ payment
- Manage purchase orders and procurement documentation
- Collaborate with Line managers and teams to identify material needs and align procurement activities with project schedules
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to contract terms, quality standards, and delivery schedules
- Conduct market research to stay informed about trends, pricing, and supply chain challenges in the construction sector
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards in procurement processes
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior procurement team members
Job qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 3–5 years of procurement experience within building and civil engineering projects
- Previous experience in a similar role within construction industry will be considered an asset
- Excellent command of MS-Office Suite
- Knowledge of procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP MM, Oracle, or similar) would constitute an added value
- Good knowledge of procurement principles, sourcing strategies, and supply chain processes
- Familiarity with construction materials, equipment, and subcontracting processes
- Ability to embody ESG principles in procurement strategies, including sustainable sourcing and ethical vendor selection will be a plus
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
