Job Summary
The Site Supervisor will oversee the Phase A civil works for a Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) project in Crete, Greece, managing microtrenching operations (targeting 200–300 meters/day) and ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and Greek regulations. The role involves leading teams of trencher operators and laborers, coordinating with local authorities and partners, and maintaining efficient site operations to meet project milestones starting 1st September 2025.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily civil operations, including microtrenching, spoil removal, and trench reinstatement, to achieve 200–300 meters/day in urban Crete settings.
• Supervise and coordinate multiple Civil teams, ensuring team productivity, safety, and adherence to project schedules.
• Conduct site assessments to identify hazards (e.g., rocky soils, heritage restrictions) and develop risk mitigation plans, aligning with Greek safety standards (OSHA-equivalent).
• Coordinate with local authorities for wayleaves, permits, and compliance with Greek regulations.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment to minimize downtime.
• Maintain daily safety logs, oversee trench inspections (as per client standards), and ensure compliance with environmental regulations for spoil disposal.
• Liaise with Phase B ISP teams to align civil works with fiber splicing schedules, ensuring seamless project integration.
• Report progress, incidents, or delays to the Project Manager, providing updates to clients to meet project milestones.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Responsibilities

• Enforce Greek occupational health and safety regulations, ensuring team compliance with PPE (e.g., helmets, high-visibility vests) and site safety protocols during microtrenching.
• Conduct daily safety briefings and inspections, using trench boxes and shoring systems to prevent collapses, per Greek safety standards.
• Ensure environmentally compliant spoil disposal and trench reinstatement, minimizing disruption in Crete’s tourism-sensitive areas.
• Complete HSE training on Greek construction regulations and report incidents/near-misses to maintain IKA/EFKA compliance.

Qualifications and Skills

• 1-2+ years of experience in civil construction or telecom OSP projects, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Proven expertise in managing microtrenching or excavation projects, with knowledge of FTTH infrastructure.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to manage diverse teams and resolve site issues.
• Proficiency with construction equipment (e.g., microtrenchers, excavators) and utility coordination.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with local partners, residents, authorities, and clients.
• Certification in construction safety or project management (e.g., OSHA 30, PMP) is a plus.

Working Conditions

• Urban and semi-urban sites in Crete, with potential exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
• Standard 8–10-hour shifts, 5–6 days/week, with occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.
• Travel within Crete (e.g., Heraklion, Chania) required, with company-provided supervisor vehicle.
