POSITION SUMMARY

  • General resource for internal and external stakeholders regarding Pfizer’s approach to outsourcing and contract management for Clinical Development & Operations.
  • Leads all outsourcing and contracting efforts on an engagement-by-engagement basis. Negotiates contractual budgets, business terms and the scopes of service with service providers, for medium-complexity engagements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with internal customers to identify and evaluate available outsourcing options to support decision-making relative to service needs.
  • Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFP), competitive bids and bid analyses to support the vendor selection process
  • Depending on the nature of the engagement and services required, prepare, negotiate and execute medium-complexity Work Orders, Statements of Work, Vendor Services Agreements, Change Orders and other types of ad-hoc agreements
  • Directly negotiate proposed changes to standard contract language within guidelines provided by the Legal Division; escalate requested changes that fall outside of guidelines to the Legal Division and other stakeholders, as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA or BS degree
  • 5+ years of Sponsor experience, Contract Research Organization (CRO) operational and/or proposal development/contract management experience, or other related experience, including significant experience negotiating and drafting vendor agreements.
  • Understanding of clinical trial research & development desirable
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word/PPT/Excel)
  • Experience with Ariba Contract Workbench, SalesForce, and / or other industry cost benchmarking or contract/budget management tools desirable
