Howden Cyprus Insurance & Reinsurance Brokers Ltd, part of Howden Broking Group, is seeking to hire an ambitious Actuarial & Reinsurance Analyst.
Position: Actuarial and Reinsurance Analyst
Location: NICOSIA, CYPRUS (on-site)
The successful candidate will be high-caliber, creative and well-rounded self-starter with both the qualitative and quantitative aptitude to excel in a challenging and highly competitive environment while working with other actuaries and broking professionals. Aiming to deliver actuarial, insurance, reinsurance and financial modeling services to our clients, will be involved in all aspects of actuarial work, such as reserving, pricing, reinsurance, risk management, capital modelling and Solvency II.
Responsibilities:
- Working with DFA stochastic software to model both traditional and alternative forms of reinsurance and their impact on solvency, risk and profitability.
- Working with DFA stochastic software and other tools to price and evaluate reinsurance structures from an actuarial perspective.
- Performing risk transfer analysis for regulatory purposes.
- Developing and utilizing ad-hoc complex models in excel and other software for various analyses.
- Developing and producing Business Intelligence and Management Information Reports.
- Performing market studies for various countries.
- Producing various Reports and Presentations to summarize findings to non-technical and technical audiences
- Modelling the actual performance of complex reinsurance treaties and producing the quarterly and annual reports and accounts.
- Analyzing complex reinsurance contracts and explaining them to clients.
- Collaborating with the Howden international offices on various projects.
- Client responsibilities for specific reinsurance treaties, for modelling the performance, producing the quarterly accounts/reports, system reporting and communicating with the clients and reinsurers internationally.

Key qualifications:
- University Degree with a significant mathematical focus (Actuarial Science, Mathematics, etc) with a minimum of 2.1 with a strong preference for 1st class
- Excellent oral and written communications skills both in English and Greek
- Excellent skills in Excel
- Programming skills will be highly considered
- Knowledge of data analysis and database software (SQL, Access, R, etc) will be highly considered
- Knowledge of advanced PowerPoint skills will be considered an advantage
- Knowledge of insurance, reinsurance and Solvency II will be considered an advantage
- Roles are available for both entry level candidates as well as candidates with up to 3 years of relevant experience
