The role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting Officer with strong analytical skills and professional maturity to join our team.
In this role, you will manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial records, support payments and payroll processes, and assist with internal financial reporting and EU-funded project cost administration.
The position is suitable for accounting professionals with experience in SMEs or professional services environments who are comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-project environment.

Employment Type & Work Setup: Full-time position / ON-SITE
What will you do
- Accounting: Issue and record invoices, credit notes, and expense documentation. Record and monitor accounting transactions in SoftOne. Manage myDATA submissions & reconciliations. Monitor withholding taxes, VAT, statutory obligations and company clearance. Maintain digital & physical financial records. Coordination & collaboration with CFO & the external accounting team.
- Treasury, Budget & Payments: Monitor, in collaboration with the CFO, and execute budget preparation and management, as well as payment processes through the current accounts. Track, analyze and execute operational expenses. Provide weekly cash report.
- Financial Monitoring & Reporting Support: Assist CFO in monitoring budgets, cash flow, and P&L performance. Extract financial data and maintain internal monitoring files and KPIs. Assist with monthly and annual closing cycles.
- Bank Relations: Reconciliation of Current & Loan Accounts with Banks, Contact with Banks, Issuing and Monitoring Letters of Guarantee.
- EU-Funded Projects & Subsidies Support: Support project cost allocation, documentation, and eligibility checks, in collaboration with Grants Manager. Assist with project invoicing, expense verification, and audit support
- Contracts & Internal Administration Support: Support financial validation of contracts, Maintain customer & supplier records, Process travel clearance & documentation
What we are looking for:
Education & Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
- 5+ years experience in accounting/finance in an SME or professional services environment (consulting/EU projects environment is a plus)
- Solid understanding of Greek accounting and tax principles
- Proficiency in accounting software & digital bookkeeping platforms (SoftOne, myDATA)
- Exposure to EU-funded projects is a strong plus
- Native-level Fluency in Greek and excellent command of English (certification preferred).
Technical Skills
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills (financial formulas, data handling, reporting)
- Knowledge of labor legislation & payroll processes
- Understanding of corporate finance concepts (cash flow monitoring, forecasting) & budgeting
- Experience with NSRF/subsidy programs is a plus
