Accountant

The Position:

We are looking for an Accountant with proven experience to join our finance team in Kifissia, whose main task will be supporting the Romanian Business Units of the Group. If you have a strong background in accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization.

 

Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be responsible and accountable for:

• Handles all accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and expense recording
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with regulations
• Lead month-end and year-end closing procedures, preparing financial reports
• Prepare and oversee tax-related activities, including VAT declarations, Intrastat reports, and tax payments
• Secure full compliance with Tax requirements and internal accounting policies
• Monitor cash flow, payments, and financial forecasts
• Collaborate with external (statutory, tax, etc.) and internal auditors, providing necessary support during audits
• Ensure adherence to financial deadlines and regulatory requirements
• Evaluate and enhance financial processes to contribute to continuous improvements in reporting and compliance.

 

Qualifications & Competencies required:

• 2-3 years of experience in similar role
• Strong knowledge of Greek GAAP and IFRS. Romanian GAAP will be considered an asset
• Extensive familiarity with ERP systems for accounting and financial reporting
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax compliance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling)
• Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

 

Qualifications considered as an asset:

• Romanian language knowledge will be considered a strong asset
• Previous experience in a company's accounting department in the retail sector.
