We are looking for a highly skilled Assistant Accountant to join Aktor Group.
Position Scope:
The holder of the position will be contributing to duties of the accounting department and report to the Chief Accountant of the subsidiary Aktor Facility Participation.
The AKTOR Group controls the financially healthiest and one of the strongest portfolios of PPP (Public-Private Partnership) and Concession projects in Greece, aiming to diversify its revenue and create value for its shareholders.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Handle daily accounting activities: cash/bank transaction entries, creditors’ invoices postings, fixed assets registrations, GL entries, etc.
- Perform routine calculations to produce reports as requested
- Reconcile transactions and resolve discrepancies
- Participate in the monthly/annual closing process effectively and within deadlines
- Prepare the withholding taxes and VAT statements
- Monitor Contracts/Agreements and prepare submissions to AADE
- Check the MyData platform and take all necessary actions to ensure reconciliation
- Handle the cash register and the invoicing process
- Monitor the Accounts Payable and preparation of payment orders
- Reconcile accruals and provisions
- Communicate with debtors, banks, tax office representatives, chartered accountants
- Assist in any auditing procedure by preparing the data requested and fulfilling secondary procedures
- Occasionally perform duties demanding presence at the local tax offices or banks
Job qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (AEI or TEI)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
- MSc in Finance will be considered an asset
- Good oral and written communication skills in English
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and “MyData” Platform
- Good knowledge of the Greek Accounting Standards
- Experience in SAP accounting software will be considered an asset
- Entry level understanding of IFRS will be considered a plus
