PeopleCert is currently seeking a Tax Associate to join our in-house tax team. In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality tax compliance and advisory services that help achieve the company’s financial and strategic goals. You will work closely with internal departments to ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations while gaining exposure to a wide range of tax matters in a global business environment.
As a Tax Associate, your tasks will include the following:
- Assist in preparing and reviewing tax returns and filings for all business entities (corporate income, sales, use, and property taxes).
- Support tax planning activities and contribute to identifying potential tax-saving opportunities.
- Research tax issues and monitor legislative changes to ensure compliance and assess their impact on the business.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and accounting teams to provide accurate tax data and documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements.
- Support tax audits by compiling documentation and liaising with tax authorities under guidance from senior team members.
- Participate in process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax compliance.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports in line with applicable regulations.
What we look for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be considered a plus.
- 2–4 years of in-house or public accounting experience with a focus on corporate tax compliance.
- Good understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent command of English (C1 or above; C2 LanguageCert LTE or C2 IESOL certificate will be considered a plus).
- Strong computer literacy. ECDL Advance level certification is desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)
Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.
If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:
- A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
- Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
- HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
- Financial background check
- Employment reference check.
- If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.
In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
