A pharmaceutical company is looking to staff its accounting department with a Chief Accountant at its offices in the center of Athens.

Competences:
•    BSc in Economics, Accounting or Finance
•    MBA and/or CPA
•    5+ work experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in manufacturing, pharma or equivalent industry
•    Knowledge of Greek Corporate Taxation
•    Hands-on experience with risk management
•    Excellent time-management and organizational skills
•    Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
•    Problem solver and critical thinker mindset
•    Excellent command of written and spoken Greek and English languages (other languages will be considered as added value)
•    Excellent PC skills
•    Attention to detail

Responsibilities:
•    Perform month-end accounting activities
•    Coordinate with the finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines
•    Evaluate Computerized accounting systems and provide recommendations to IT for performance improvements
•    Generate financial reports statements to Senior management
•    Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective solutions
•    Monitor expenditure, analyze revenues and determine budget variances and report to senior management
•    Responding to accounting inquiries from management
•    Provide guidance to other accountants when needed
•    Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities
•    Assist in Auditing Activities
•    Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations
•    Manage and retain relationships with various vendors
•    Prepare current reports
•    Prepare and present forecast reports
•    Adherent to the law and company’s policies
