We are looking for a highly organized Junior Accountant to join our Athens based team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the finance department by managing various day-to-day accounting tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Reconcile invoices and look for inconsistencies
• Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and sensitive company data
• Keep both digital and physical financial records
• Duties related to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Assist in preparation of financial and statistical statements and reports
• Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards
• Compile and prepare routine reports and summaries
• Assist with other accounting projects

Minimum Requirements:

• BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant, hands-on accounting experience especially on double entry bookkeeping
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English
• Strong confidentiality sense
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently on assigned duties
• Familiarity with finance regulations
• Ability to recognize numerical errors, good analytical and quantitative abilities
• Working knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software, specifically Eurofasma Next and/or Pylon will be considered a strong asset
