The company offers the opportunity to those who wish to express interest in the position of “Underground Mine Geologist (Γεωλόγος Υπόγειου Μεταλλείου)”, for its premises in Halkidiki. The position will report to the Senior Mine Geologist of the Technical Services Department, based in Olympias. 

Main Responsibilities:  

• Daily underground ore control and reporting
• Underground mapping and collection of geological and geotechnical information
• Routine supervision of drilling activities
• Responsibility for the data extraction from geological core logging, mapping and sampling, in order to ensure effective production of payable ore.
• Analysis and assessment of all geological data to advise on short-term mine production plans.
• Supervision of diamond drilling programs (Infill, Geotechnical, Hydrological and Utility drilling)
• Geologic and geotechnical data collection from drill core
• Participation in the execution of ore grade control, sorting of ore types and tracking material management.
• Responsibility for maintaining and collating face maps, grade reports, and assistance in updating geological interpretations
• Application of a knowledge of fundamental geology to develop an understanding of how rock types and structure in the mine impact on groundwater occurrence and movement.
• Production, execution, and planning of geotechnical projects in coordination with Mine Planning to fit optimally into the development of the mine.
• Assistance in the development and maintenance of geological and geotechnical modelling.
• Utilization of high end computer software designed for mining operations such as mine design, modelling, mapping and monitoring mine conditions.
• Liaison with relevant mining personnel regarding grade control and ore production issues and protocols
• Assistance in the optimization of geological systems and procedures as well as assurance that they are being effectively utilized.
• Preparation of memos, maps, and reports interpreting findings of data collection and evaluation, model updates and provision of guidance and recommendations.
• Execution of ad hoc projects as required.

Requirements:  

• Bachelor's degree in Geology
• 1 year of experience as a Geologist
• Experience in Geology and Mine Geology
• Experience in ore control, statistical analysis techniques, and using mining software, including 3D modelling
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Geology software (Leapfrog) or other related design software
• Proficient in verbal and written English
• Strong team-oriented spirit with efficient time management skills
• Good judgment, decision-making abilities, and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication skills and the ability to solve complex problems
• Ability to work under pressure
• Strong planning and organizational skills, including goal setting and the ability to adapt priorities when necessary
• A desire to continually learn and grow in relevant career/skills
