Experienced in the marine industry, especially in ship building and repair, you are ready for a new challenge in a business that offers roles with breadth, depth of scope and impact. This position with AkzoNobel as a Technical Service Representative within our Marine & Protective Coatings business is the role you are looking for. We want you to join the team and utilize your marine technical understanding to provide a sound technical service to civil and commercial customers.
As Technical Service Representative you will consult with customers, from ship owners to coating contractors, regarding the quality and application of paint, ensuring all parties understand and agree on painting requirements. This will involve advising on paint specifications, providing recommendations for preparation and application as well as conducting inspections to ensure paint is applied in acceptable conditions and according to specification. You will provide customer training as well as technical advice and information on products as requested too. You will also complete documentation and produce business reporting. Important will be the ability to follow procedures and operate safely.
You will have worked in a technical service or marine supervisory/ QC environment where you will have gained a strong understanding of the marine industry, including ship building and repair. Ideally, your knowledge of marine products will be complemented by NACE or FROSIO level 1/2 qualifications too. Comfortable building relationships you must have good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and experience of training others. Adaptable and highly motivated you will possess the ability to develop technical and product knowledge quickly and become expert on the AkzoNobel range. Vital too, will be a strong customer service ethic. A full driving license is essential. Recognized health & safety training would be an advantage.
Predominantly working throughout Athens area, however exciting opportunities may arise for further business travel throughout the entire Greece and on occasion overseas.
