In a Nutshell

Novotel Athens is a 4-star hotel, near the city Centre, with comfortable facilities, 196 rooms, 8 conference rooms for meetings, Acropolis view, Pool, Gym, food & beverage options and full of great people.

We are currently seeking an Executive Chef to work as part of our team.


Every memorable dining experience begins behind the scenes with our culinary team’s commitment to safe, efficient operations and exceptional cuisine.

As the leader of the kitchen, you will coordinate, direct and supervise all the activity of the kitchen and its various sections. Your focus will be to organize and coordinate the work of the team and ensure the smooth operation of all culinary services.

What you will be doing:

· Organize and supervise the preparation of food according to occupancy and consumption forecasts.

· Prepare all menus in collaboration with the F&B director.

· Maintain F&B cost according to budget.

· Keep up to date with new restaurant trends.

· Prepare and make orders of necessary stock.

As a coach and manager, you:

· Coordinate work with the restaurant to ensure the service runs smoothly.

· Collaborate with banquet department.

· Lead and participate in team meetings.

· Create a work atmosphere that encourages team motivation and commitment.

· Guarantee the working conditions and well-being of your staff.

· In collaboration with management, identify future service requirements.


· You are responsible for food and beverage inventory.

· Lead your team to produce the highest quality of food preparation and presentation, while ensuring timeliness of service.

· Perform inventories, data entry, analyse and explain consumption discrepancies.

· Ensure the proper use and sustainability of the equipment and materials in the department in collaboration with management.

· Meet budgeted productivity ratios.

· Identify and follows up ordering needs.

· Manage the stewarding team.

· Collaborate with the rest of department heads.

Health / Safety of people / Environment:

· Ensure that health and safety rules are followed and applied in the department, in particular HACCP standards.

· Ensure that food is stored according to current hygiene standards.

· Ensure compliance with safety instructions on the use of the equipment.

· Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards


Your experience and skills include:

· Proven experience as a Chef in a 4* star hotel or reputable restaurant.

· Diploma or certification in a culinary field.

· Knowledge of hygiene, cleanliness and safety standards.

· Experience of supervising and guiding others.

· Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.

· Innovation, creativity, sense of organization and attention to detail and quality.

· Teaching, ability to train and convey knowledge.

· Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
