Description
SWOT Hospitality is looking for immediate employment an experienced
Chef
for an upcoming hotel of the company's portfolio
About the role:
We are looking for a dynamic Chef who will take over full accountability of the culinary direction of the hotel, coordinate the day-to-day kitchen operation and manage the financial performance of his/her area of responsibility. Will be required to focus constantly on guest and employee satisfaction while ensuring all health and safety protocols/HACCP certificates are in place. The Chef shall exhibit exceptional communication, training and mentoring skills, aiming to develop his direct subordinates.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Accountable for short and long-term planning of the department’s needs.
- Develops and recommends budgets, labor cost plans and objectives and manages functions within those approved plans.
- Coaches and counsels team members to reflect the brand’s SOPs in the department’s cooking standards and procedures.
- Able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Leads the kitchen management team and day-to-day operations, ensuring brand standards are being met.
- Exceptional collaboration with the General Manager and Food & Beverage Manager on all matters.
- Setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
- Able to build a team which he/she will be inspiring daily.
- Reviews staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are being met.
- Participates in budgeting & forecasting meetings.
Requirements
- Culinary degree or related training equivalent in the Hospitality/Restaurant Industry - required
- At least 4 years of experience in a similar position
- Significant experience and knowledge of fine dining a la carte restaurants
- Strong financial acumen on cost control
- A self-motivated, driven, results oriented professional with positive and proactive attitude
- Leadership skills to motivate and develop the department heads and to ensure accomplishment of all goals
- Professional appearance and manner at all times
- Able to set priorities, plan, organize, delegate and control
