Partly remoteKey Responsibilities
- Perform thickness measurements at ships.
- Document measurement results and compile detailed reports for surveyors, technical managers and IACS Members.
- Calibrate and maintain measurement instruments to ensure accurate results.
- Communicate findings clearly with senior technical staff, ensuring timely resolution of measurement discrepancies or issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or an associate degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Certification in NDT (Level II) and proven experience in thickness measurement or non-destructive testing (NDT), preferably in a marine or shipbuilding environment.
- Knowledge of ultrasonic testing, micrometer usage and other measurement tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards for marine vessel construction.
- Strong understanding of marine structures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
- Proficient in documenting and reporting measurement data according to IACS Members reporting systems and tools.
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- English language minimum level C1.
