Job Summary
Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and colleagues by establishing and enforcing security policies and procedures, supervising the security guard force.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the team of security officers (third party) that are assigned to them.
- Placement of the security officers during their day/night shift.
- Check the Daily Security Report during the shift and rectify any information and grammar where necessary. Ensure all incidents are reported accordingly.
- Ensure that the colleagues are well groom according to the grooming standards of the resort.
- Ensure that the colleagues report for duty on time
- Ensure monthly training regarding operations and SOP is done and recorded on training sheet.
- Ensure that delegation of assignments, projects or jobs is done fairly and equally so as to eliminate any excess pressure / workload on any particular staff or section of the department.
- Patrol resort to ensure the safety of guests and employees, and to ensure that all security officers are at the relevant static posts.
- Assure that registers in operations is signed on a regular basis during the shift. [Name, time and signature]
- Any irregularities regarding any operational registers must be brought to the attention of Manager, Security & Loss Prevention immediately, necessary follow up regarding the incident must be done and reported.
- Responsible for dealing with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism. “Leading by example”
- Required to observe the environment, paying attention to changes, inappropriate activity, or potential problems and report to Manager, Security & Loss Prevention.
- Assist in any minor incidents and obtain all the documentations [buggy offences, buggy accident relating to staff, crimes committed against property and staff and Lost & Found enquiries] and record accordingly in the Daily Security Report.
- Serious incidents must be reported immediately to the Security Control Room as well as to the Manager, Security & Loss Prevention.
- Attend to scheduled training sessions and meetings whenever required.
- Assist and supervise the checking of the alarm systems, fire equipment systems and closely monitoring the office building doors, service areas and delivery areas.
- Ensure all security equipment’s are in good condition and keep record for audit purpose.
- Do parade report and ensure all relevant information is given to the security officers for their duty.
- During parade ensure that all the security officers are equipped with working equipment [walkie talkie and torch lights]
- Issuing of warnings to security officers who does not abide by the rules and regulations as and SOP of daily operations.
- Provide security and protect the property against theft, vandalism, fire hazards and acts of violence.
- To assist within the department in other areas or in the event of other staff on emergency leave or when requested by Manager, Security & Loss Prevention.
- To stay updated with the development in the field of Safety and Security.
- Report all hazards that have been noticed during normal operation of the shift to Security Control Room, as well as to Manager, Security & Loss Prevention.
- Monthly training records are signed by all security officers before due date
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- Fluent in English both verbally and written.
- Successfully completed School
- Computer literate. (Microsoft office)
- Completed at least 6 months in a supervisory position or similar is advantage.
- Experience in investigations a distinctive advantage.
- Completed a course in Basic Firefighting.
- Completed a course in First Aid.
- CCTV experience a distinctive advantage
- Physically fit, Deals with Uncertainty, Judgment, Objectivity, Dependability, Emotional Control, Integrity, Safety Management, Professionalism, and Reporting Skills.
