Senior Business Development Manager

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to join our Business Development - M Technologies team in Athens.

In this role, you will support the identification, shaping, and development of new defence opportunities, industrial participation initiatives, and strategic international partnerships across land, air, and integrated systems.

Working closely with the Head of Business Development - M Technologies, you will contribute to structured opportunity assessment, proposal development, stakeholder engagement, and market intelligence activities, supporting the Group's long-term defence growth strategy.

Your role will encompass:

  • Conduct structured market and capability mapping to identify and assess new defence opportunities aligned with strategic priorities
  • Support stakeholder engagement with OEMs, Ministries of Defence, NATO/EU bodies, international partners, and internal leadership
  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs for RFIs/RFPs, capability assessments, technical documentation, and commercial proposals
  • Translate operational and doctrinal requirements into structured industrial and technical specifications
  • Maintain and update the BD pipeline, ensuring accurate documentation, reporting, and preparation of executive briefing materials
  • Conduct competitive analysis, capability assessments, and defence market research to support strategic positioning
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Production, Finance, Legal, and Procurement teams to ensure feasibility and alignment
  • Identify risks and dependencies across opportunity lifecycles and propose mitigation actions
  • Support performance tracking, lessons learned capture, and continuous improvement of BD processes
  • Ensure structured execution, governance, and timely responses to RFPs, RFIs, and stakeholder requests


What you bring to the role:

  • 6+ years of experience in defence capability development, operational planning, defence program coordination, or opportunity lifecycle support
  • Experience in preparing or supporting RFI/RFP responses, technical documentation, and defence proposals
  • Familiarity with OEMs, Ministries of Defence, NATO/EU defence institutions, or multinational defence frameworks
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments across engineering, operations, production, finance, and legal
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical and operational matters clearly
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in complex and fast-paced environments
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and prioritization capability
  • Technical & Professional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Military Science, International Security, Defence Studies, or a related field
  • Defence sector training, military staff college education, or equivalent operational/strategic background is considered an asset
  • Project Management certification is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools
