This position collaborates with cross-functional departments, like manufacturing, engineering, R&D, to drive continuous improvement and uphold our commitment to delivering safe and high-quality food products to our customers.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing food safety and quality assurance programs.
  • Implementing and maintaining site QMS, technical policies, procedures, control sheets, and work instructions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customers, and standards.
  • Manage and optimize the site HACCP system to ensure safe food production.
  • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food safety and quality assurance practices.
  • Investigating and resolving food safety incidents through root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions and preventive measures to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ensure effective complaint management with investigation and resolution to customers promptly.
  • Schedule and Compiling KPI data collection and technical reports.
  • Training and educating staff on food safety practices, quality control procedures, control sheets, work instructions, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with suppliers and vendors to ensure that all raw materials and packaging meet quality and safety standards.
  • Keeping up to date with food safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure that the business remains compliant.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to embed a Food Safety and Quality Culture within the business.
  • Ensure all finished products comply with the intended trading market food legislation and regulations.
  • Support product development projects by being the technical expert on customer standards, food safety regulations, and labelling.

Required qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a related field. A relevant Master's degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years in food safety and quality assurance roles, with a focus on compliance management, preferably in the food manufacturing or production industry.
  • A minimum of 3 years conducting food safety and quality audits, inspections, and risk assessments, including a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of international food safety regulations, standards, and requirements, such as Codex Alimentarius, European Union regulations, FDA regulations, and country-specific regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of diverse Quality Management Systems, such as GFSI standards, AIB, and experience in implementing and maintaining such systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in using quality control tools, statistical analysis software, and computer systems.
