Procurement Officer - Supply Chain

The Role

As a Procurement Officer - Supply Chain, you will be responsible for managing the company's procurement activities, including but not limited to sourcing and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement all activities related to the supply chain analysis and procurement of raw materials, components and equipment. Aim to improve inventory turns, reduce costs, reduce lead-times, improve quality and minimize scrap. Forecasting and analysis of demand, trends and market conditions
  • Ensure optimal inventory levels at all times, to support the growth of the business.
  • Liaise with international suppliers and place purchasing orders, in an efficient and professional manner. Conduct research for new suppliers as needed and build mutually beneficial partnerships with suppliers.
  • Issue and follow up RFQs, perform initial bid analysis and present results.
  • Regular follow-up of variances between needed & expected delivery dates. Work with suppliers for rescheduling delivery dates as appropriate
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery times and other variables, while mitigating supply risk.
  • Perform product cost analysis and continuous cost monitoring, to identify opportunities to further reduce costs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to procurement and inventory management.
  • Evaluate regularly suppliers on both qualitative and quantitative criteria e.g. operational risk profiling.
  • Utilize ERP information systems in procurement processes for data input and analysis.
  • Internal reporting and analysis for senior management. Make recommendations to management for performance improvement.
  • Liaise with other departments e.g. Production, R&D, Quality Control, to plan and organize purchasing requirements of equipment and raw materials to meet production scheduling needs. Manage inventory issues and find solutions as needed in daily operations.
  • Assist with various procurement tasks (ie payments, invoices, supplier quality issues follow up, etc)
  • Other ad hoc purchasing and logistics activities as required

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics/Supply Chain, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Postgraduate degree highly preferred.
  • 2-3 years of proven experience in Planning, Purchasing and Inventory Management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing concepts, raw material planning, demand forecasting and operations planning would be an asset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to engage and interact with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong cross functional collaboration within a fast-paced international environment.
  • Strong hands-on approach and can-do attitude
  • Good decision-making skills, exercising good judgement
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience of demand forecasting, inventory management and planning
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent knowledge of Excel is essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English
  • Familiarity with ERP systems. Knowledge of databases, SQL, data visualisation tools e.g. Power BI etc would be an asset.
