Costa Navarino is in Messinia in the southwest Peloponnese, in one of the most unspoiled and breathtaking landscapes in the Mediterranean. W Costa Navarino, exclusively for adults and young adults over 12 years old, offers 226 stylish rooms, 2 bedroom suites and 3 bedroom villas with infinity private pools, staged in the Bay of Navarino with stunning Ionian Sea views, The Watersports Center, The Away Spa and gym with a heated 25m-long lap pool, including the new Navarino Agora, an open marketplace with retail, street food, open-air cinema and exciting programming throughout the day and night.

Costa Navarino is seeking a Groups & Events Manager to oversee all aspects of event preparation and coordination. You will work closely with Sales, property departments, and clients to ensure seamless service throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases. Reporting directly to the Director of Groups & Events, this role manages groups and events of moderate complexity, ensuring smooth transitions from sales to service and back, while actively identifying opportunities to enhance events, maximizing revenue, and create memorable guest experiences.

Responsibilities

Managing Event Logistics and Operations

  • Ensure events progress seamlessly by following procedures, collaborating with teams, and addressing operational challenges.
  • Manage logistics for medium to large-sized group events, including room blocks, meeting spaces, billing accuracy, and event documentation.
  • Act as liaison between Sales, property departments, and clients throughout the event lifecycle.
  • Participate in site inspections, assist with the sales process, and use judgment to integrate trends in event management.

Ensuring and Providing Exceptional Customer Service

  • Build strong client relationships and deliver outstanding, guest-focused service.
  • Coordinate event details verbally and in writing with clients and internal teams, maintaining a visible presence on-site.
  • Handle guest issues efficiently and use expertise to enhance the overall experience.
  • Encourage and support team members in delivering excellent customer service.

Revenue, Upselling & Commercial Leadership

  • Drive upselling opportunities and support revenue growth through F&B, meeting space, and value-added services.
  • Motivate the team to identify and implement upselling strategies.
  • Ensure all upsold items are properly documented, contracted, and communicated.

Leading Event Management Teams

  • Supervise, support, and train Groups & Events Coordinators/Executives, delegating tasks and leading execution.
  • Conduct pre- and post-event meetings to communicate needs and gather feedback.
  • Lead task execution, delegate responsibilities, and ensure smooth operations.
  • Act as a role model in professionalism, service delivery, and commercial awareness.


Requirements

  • Demonstrated previous managerial or supervisory experience in Groups & Events function in the hotel/ hospitality sector.
  • Be a person with enviable customer service skills.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project a pleasant and positive professional image to all contacts always
  • Be flexible to respond to a range of different work situations.
  • Speak, write, and converse freely in both Greek and English
  • Having computer skills and knowledge of a hotelier software system, Opera is mandatory.
  • Have impeccable cooperation, attention to detail, inspiration, and organizational skills.
  • Have strong customer awareness and focus.
  • Be Well-groomed and presentable.
  • Ability to work under pressure, well organized and interact well as part of a team.
