About the Role

The G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented assistant to join our small, dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in cultural programming, contemporary art, communication, and strategy development.

The ideal candidate is organized, curious, and communicative, and feels comfortable taking initiative, working independently when needed, and collaborating closely with others.

They will support the Foundation’s day-to-day activities as well as work on exhibitions, residencies, events, publications, and digital content. They will also contribute to the development and implementation of our 5-year strategy (2026-2030) which includes exciting new initiatives and collaborations in Greece and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embrace the Foundation’s vision and values and contribute to its mission
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of exhibitions, public programs, and artist residencies
  • Contribute to the finalization and implementation of the Foundation’s 5-year strategic plan (2026-2023), including a broader vision and mission, as well as exciting new projects and partnerships
  • Coordinate with external collaborators, artists, and institutions as needed
  • Support research and content development for the Foundation’s website, newsletters, and social media
  • Help draft, edit, and proofread communication materials in Greek and English (e.g., press releases, event texts, media kits etc.)
  • Assist in organizing press events, media outreach, and visits by journalists, partners etc.
  • Provide logistical support for projects and events (travel bookings, scheduling, correspondence, etc.)
  • Help gather and organize feedback from partners, visitors, and stakeholders
  • Maintain and update media mailing lists, press clippings, and the Foundation’s archive
  • Conduct guided tours and oversee educational activities of the Art Collection
  • Support engagement with the local community, schools, and other educational or cultural groups
  • Work cross-departmentally and across teams

 

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Cultural Studies, Cultural Management, or related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Greek and English
  • High level of attention to detail and clarity in written work
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, willingness to take initiative, and manage multiple tasks
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work cross-departmentally and support various teams
  • Some relevant experience in a similar setting (internships, junior roles, volunteer work)
  • Interest in contemporary art, cultural heritage, or nonprofit work

 

Desirable Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Experience in press, communications, or event coordination
  • Experience with social media and/or Wordpress systems
  • Good familiarity with the Greek and international cultural landscape
