Role Description

The role is responsible for the strategic planning and management of the company’s transportation operations, ensuring timely and efficient product distribution, optimization of transportation costs, and effective collaboration with logistics providers, in order to support business objectives and maintain high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and Supervising Shipments: Responsible for scheduling routes,    tracking orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods while managing logistics and transportation costs.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all transportation operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety protocols and legal requirements.
• Team Coordination: Manage and supervise drivers and logistics teams, providing training and support to ensure efficient operations.
• Monitoring Performance: Evaluate transportation metrics and expenses to optimize resource utilization and improve operational efficiency.
• Vendor Management: Oversee third-party logistics providers to ensure contracted services meet expectations and quality standards.
• Transportation team management and development: Leading a team of 3 transportation/distribution planners
• Contract Management: Monitor daily operations and cooperation with 3PLs, ensuring that the contract terms are always met and 3PLs performance is according to standards
• Tenders& Negotiations: Continuous market scanning (domestic and international providers) and benchmarking

Qualifications 

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years in transportation or logistics management, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential. Familiarity with logistics software and transportation management systems is beneficial.
