Key Responsibilities
• Administer and maintain VMware vSphere / vCenter environments (ESXi hosts, VMs, snapshots, storage, HA/DRS).
• Manage Windows Server environments including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and certificate services.
• Administer Linux servers (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu): patching, hardening, performance tuning, and scripting.
• Maintain and monitor MS SQL Server instances: backups, restores, performance monitoring, and basic query optimization.
• Perform system monitoring, capacity planning, and proactive identification of bottlenecks or risks.
• Execute change management procedures in compliance with ITSM policies (incident, problem, change management).
• Implement and maintain security baselines, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Produce technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
• Provide 2nd/3rd level support and act as escalation point for infrastructure-related incidents.
• Participate in on-call rotation and planned maintenance windows.
Technical Requirements
Virtualization
• VMware vSphere / vCenter 7.x or 8.x
• VMware NSX, SRM, or Horizon
• Familiarity with backup solutions integrated with VMware (e.g., Veeam, Commvault)
Windows
• Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022 administration
• Active Directory, Group Policy, ADFS, DNS, DHCP
• PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting
• IIS, Remote Desktop Services (RDS), Windows clustering (desirable)
Linux
• RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu server administration
• Shell scripting (Bash), cron jobs, log management
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet) is a plus
• Basic networking knowledge: firewall rules, routing, VLANs in a Linux context
Microsoft SQL Server
• MS SQL Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022 installation, configuration, and maintenance
• Backup and recovery strategies (full, differential, transaction log)
• Performance monitoring, index management, and basic T-SQL querying
• SQL Server Agent, Always On Availability Groups (desirable)
Networking & Security
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewalling principles
• Experience with SIEM tools or security monitoring platforms (desirable)
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 / CIS Benchmarks a strong plus
Qualifications & Experience
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in an IT Administration / Systems Engineer role
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
• Relevant certifications preferred: VCP (VMware), MCSA/MCSE (Microsoft), RHCSA/RHCE (Red Hat), MCDBA or equivalent
• Experience in ITSM environments (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar) is an advantage
• ITIL Foundation certification is a plus
