Junior Systems Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to users by responding to inquiries, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and resolving network and system problems.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT systems, including desktops, laptops, servers, and network devices.
- Assist in monitoring system performance, ensuring the availability of IT infrastructure, and minimizing downtime.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of security protocols, ensuring systems are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Help manage and maintain software and hardware inventories.
- Assist in the onboarding and setup of new users, including creating and configuring accounts, permissions, and email.
- Collaborate with the team to resolve more complex issues and escalate problems when necessary.
- Document procedures, system configurations, and user guides for reference and training purposes.
- Participate in IT projects related to network upgrades, infrastructure improvement, and system rollouts.
- Maintain communication with clients and users to ensure efficient resolution of issues and satisfaction with IT services.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree, or relevant school in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in systems engineering, IT support, or a related role.
• Basic knowledge of network and system administration, including Windows/Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting tools and techniques for diagnosing hardware and software issues.
• Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
• Experience with ticketing systems or help desk software is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals and Cisco CCNA.
• Experience with scripting languages.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms.
