Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our payroll team. This role is ideal for professionals with strong payroll administration experience, knowledge of Greek labor law, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
As a Payroll Specialist at ERMA FIRST, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate payroll processing, compliance, and employee support.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing & Administration
- Process and manage end-to-end payroll for all employees accurately and on time
- Collect, validate, and enter payroll data; participate in payroll processing and issuance
- Maintain payroll records and employee compensation data
- Manage payroll-related reports, reconciliations, and workforce statistics
- Ensure correct deductions for taxes, social security, and benefits
Compliance & Policy
- Ensure compliance with Greek labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies
- Stay up to date with payroll legislation and update payroll policies and procedures as needed
- Assist with audits and payroll reporting
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Labor (ERGANI) obligations and Greek labor provisions
Employee Lifecycle Management & HR Support
- Coordinate with HR and Finance on employee changes, including new hires, terminations, salary updates, and contractual amendments
- Create and maintain employees’ employment contracts
- Administer leave management, overtime, shift scheduling, and premium calculations
- Respond to employee payroll queries and provide timely support
- Assist with onboarding, benefits administration, and maintaining employee records
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- 5–7 years of experience in payroll operations and processes
- Strong knowledge of Greek labor laws and payroll regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and payroll software
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
