If you want to be part of this incredible journey Grant Thornton Greece has the opportunity for you! The Senior Financial Controller is in-charge of all activities related to financial statements preparation, management reports preparation and coordination and direction for the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts and report variances, in relevant projects that Grant Thornton undertakes. The Senior Financial Controller is also responsible to handle the new contracts and oversee the treasury as well the accounts payables process of Grant Thornton’s clients.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Supervise, review and sign off the majority of management reports
  • Oversee the Budget process and monitor the actual vs budget variances
  • Review cost accounting process & ensure proper SAP adjustments (if needed) with regard to allocation drivers, cost center changes, change in activity status
  • Overview the treasury process and maintain compliance with Clients’ policies
  • Overview the accounts payables process and accounting processes
  • Monitor monthly Financial Consolidation tasks – intercompany reconciliation and reporting
  • Review and approve standard set of monthly reports
  • Maintain and update chart of accounts (e.g. create new accounts, delete accounts if needed)
  • Propose cash calls, monitor weekly Cash report and quarterly List of Guarantee Letters
  • Act as SAP business compliance owner (assume responsibility for SAP implementation projects in order to assure compliance with Clients’ reporting requirements and Financial practice); ensure interface compliance between SAP and other software
  • Prepare and deliver annual Statutory and IFRS Financial Statements
  • Ensure adherence to company’s policies and procedures and coordination in audit procedures
  • Ensure compliance with regulations
  • Evaluate in SAP critical costing factors such as distributions, assessments, substitutions, and groups
  • Supports in special Tax cases where required

The key requirements of this role are:

  • >10 years of experience in Financial Controlling
  • Experience in corporate finance and cost management
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language
  • Very good knowledge of MS office
  • Experience in SAP Platform and relevant applications
  • Good knowledge of process and BI software
  • Experience in corporate finance and cost management
  • University Degree preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • MSc in related subject is an added value for the role
  • Advanced presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A result oriented executive with high level of integrity and business acumen
  • Problem solving, influence and persuasion
  • Confidentiality, honesty, loyalty, responsibility, initiative, proactive, time management skills
