📖 Role Summary

ERMA FIRST is recruiting a Senior Naval Design Engineer to join our Technical Department.  As a Senior Naval Design Engineer, you will be mainly (but not limited) involved with the company's Energy Saving Devices, developing innovative solutions that improve vessel performance, reduce fuel consumption, and ensure compliance with international regulations. Having this role, you will be a member of the Mechanical Engineering section, report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, and you will work closely with other sections of the department and other departments to ensure the proper execution of the work.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

So, what will you be doing?

• Utilize advanced CAD/CAE systems to perform 3D and 2D structural designs and drafting tasks for components, systems, and metallic structures.
• Create General Arrangement Drawings, Construction Drawings, and Material Take Off (MTO) lists for the construction and installation of the designed systems.
• Create technical reports and studies.
• Collaborate with manufacturers and other stakeholders, provide support, revise design and create as-built models and drawings.

🧑‍🎓 Knowledge and experience required

What will you bring?

• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering
• Minimum 5 years work experience in Naval Architecture Engineering firms.
• Very good knowledge of marine structural design principles and rules (IACS CSR).
• Very good knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Rhino design software.
• Very good knowledge of strength calculations principles on steel structures.
• Working experience in engineering analysis using CAE systems (FEA and/or CFD).
• Critical thinking and problem solving.
• Proficient in English.

🎁 Good to have skills

We would highly appreciate if you also have

• Working experience with PDM systems (preferably SolidWorks EPDM).
• On-site supervision experience related to marine constructions and installations.
