We are looking for a highly skilled Forestry Engineer to join AKTOR Renewables

Position Scope: 

As a member of our Renewables energy project team, the Forestry Engineer will be actively involved in all permitting stages of renewable energy projects. The role combines environmental and forestry expertise with broader permitting coordination, supporting the successful development of wind, solar, and storage projects through effective communication with authorities and consultants. 

Duties and responsibilities: 

Project Permitting and Regulatory Compliance 

  • Coordinate and monitor the full permitting process for renewable energy projects (from site identification to operation License) 
  • Prepare, submit, and follow up on Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), forestry approvals, land-use, and other regulatory submissions 
  • Support applications and renewals related to Production Licenses, Environmental Terms Approvals (ETA), Grid Connection Offers (GCO), and Installation Licenses (IL) 
  • Ensure full compliance with environmental, forestry, spatial planning, and energy legislation
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, municipalities, and public services to facilitate project approvals 
  • Monitor permitting deadlines and maintain comprehensive documentation and progress tracking 

Spatial and Technical Support 

  • Prepare and review maps, drawings, and layouts to accompany environmental and permitting submissions 
  • Utilize GIS and AutoCAD tools for spatial analysis and preparation of supporting materials 

Stakeholder and Team Collaboration 

  • Work closely with Project Development, Engineering, and Legal teams to ensure efficient project progress 
  • Collaborate with external consultants, environmental experts, and forestry authorities 

Job qualifications and requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry with a valid Category 27 Professional License for Environmental Studies
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental and permitting processes for renewable energy projects 
  • Experience with forestry and environmental permitting authorities and related approval procedures 
  • Proficiency in Greek and English, both written and spoken 
  • Excellent knowledge of GIS and AutoCAD for mapping and permitting documentation 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
