Within this framework, we are looking for an agile and highly-motivated “Research Engineer in Smart Energy Solutions” to join a team of future shapers.
The candidate will work in the field of Smart Energy technologies, supporting the R&D team in developing innovative solutions in the domain, addressing the needs of System Operators, Energy Retailers and other stakeholders. As research engineer, the candidate will work in a small group while being versatile and independent and will tackle innovative research projects funded by the European Commission and national research frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implementation of software solutions for multi-vector energy systems addressing topics on energy management, energy efficiency, energy planning, end-user engagement, flexibility management, data sharing;
- Technical reporting and delivery of technical presentations, effectively communicating specification and novel concepts;
- Collaboration with multi-disciplinary research groups across Europe in the context of collaborative research and innovation projects
Requirements
- MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering or other related discipline
- Experience in research and innovation projects involving Data Science and/or Optimisation in the energy domain
- Experience in software design and development
- Excellent communication / teamwork abilities and self-motivated / willing to take initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent use of English language
- Fulfilled military obligations, where applicable
Desired skills
- Postgraduate Qualifications (PHD) in relevant domain
- Experience in Horizon Europe proposals writing and relevant project implementation (preferably in the energy domain)
- Experience with modern ML/DL frameworks (e.g. Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch)
