 Project Quality Engineer

Purpose and Objective

The Project Quality Engineer is:

• supporting projects by facilitating state of the art quality management methods, techniques, and tools to ensure high-quality product, system or solution is delivered every time
• expected to actively supporting Product Development Process (PDP) in the disciplines of SW, FW and HW, challenging the content of the artifacts, trying to simulate worst case conditions under which the process or the deliverable artifacts fail
• taking care that the processes described in the Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and Process House are followed
• acting as a partner to Project Management and Project Team(-s) to co-operate on development operations related matters, ensuring high quality of output, and providing full and transparent reporting on project quality status
• working on project quality deliverables starting with project quality plan compilation and follow-through in execution by conducting P-Gate reviews, plus facilitation of PPAP activities
• driving the risk identification and mitigation by facilitating the System-, Design- and Process-FMEAs
• ensuring that a complete test strategy is developed, tests are performed and test reviews are reviewed against the product requirements
• providing guidance for technical, legal and regulatory compliance
• inspecting the deliverables of other functions for each planned PDP gate, and disseminates lessons learned and best practices amongst different project teams and stakeholder groups
• leading the problem-solving techniques, CRMs, CAPAs and continuous improvement projects
• reporting and escalating project quality issues to appropriate management levels
• expected to effectively deliver the PPAP in partnership with the Project Manager

Key Performance Indicators

• Perform required PQP (project quality plan) tasks and actions and deliver a flawless PPAP
• Provide rapid, objective, uncompromising feedback and escalation of concerns to appropriate stakeholders

Key Areas of Responsiblity

• Responsible for setting-up and deliver the PQP including a flawless PPAP
• Simulate worst case conditions, trying to make the deliverables fail, or not passing test
• Identify the weak points and risks during the development phase of the product
• Rank the maturity of the project and product in terms of Quality (PQE will not be overruled by PjM)
• Implement Lessons Learned in the development rules & guidelines

Required Skills

• Degree in engineering, QOHSE, or other related fields like Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or Chemistry
• Six Sigma Green Belt
• Basic auditor qualification is desired
• FMEA, DMAIC, APQP, PPAP, 6-Sigma, risk management
• DFSS, Lean Principles, HW Development and production processes
• SW / FW development processes and methods, like CMMI, V-Model, AGILE, SCRUM
• Presentation and Facilitation
• Conducting risk assessments, simulating worst case conditions
• Tracked record on project or production quality role in a company ISO 9001 certified
• Well experienced in quality tools and methods, and their application (FMEA, DMAIC, 6-Sigma, risk management, APQP, PPAP)
• Experience in Hardware, embedded SW (FW), and Device development for industrial systems
• Experience in driving continuous improvement activities, delivering robust business processes, and product quality
• Experienced in root cause analysis, problem solving techniques, implementing preventative and corrective actions
• Experience developing and employing Quality standards and best practices
• Ability to work autonomously, lead cross-functionally and communicate across the organization
