Our client, a Venture Capital Fund, seeks to recruit a Senior Accounting Manager.

Main responsibilities

• Manages accounting transactions, account reconciliations, balance sheets and profit/loss statements
• Handles monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Publishes financial statements
• Investigates and decides on suitable software suite and ensures it is up to date with latest information
• Prepares budget forecasts
• Checks subscription and participation documents
• Manages the company's portfolio of investments, records the investments, analyzes the possible variances, and makes the necessary entries in the journals by interacting with the portfolio managers
• Develops and maintains the financial controls in company investments
• Organizes and ensures the accuracy of all financial and accounting reports and records
• Understands the rules and regulations for monitoring and reporting investments
• Calculates tax obligations and prepares necessary tax documents and reports
• Prepares the financial statements in accordance with the provisions of accounting principles
• Monitors and analyzes underlying financials of portfolio companies and/or target investments
• Advises and consults managers on matters, such as taxes, accounting and other financial services
• Supports various other reporting requirements (i.e. budget vs actual reporting variations etc.)
• Ensures the financial controls are in order and that relevant reports are accurate and compliant with the required standards, rules, and regulations
• Assists in accurately preparing the monthly investment reconciliations in a timely manner for the monthly presentation to the management
• Ensures timely bank payments

• BSc in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• MSc will be an asset
• At least 10 years of relevant experience as an Accountant, a part of it in an Investment Entity in Greece or abroad
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
• Financial and regulatory knowledge to ensure that investments, taxes and other financial reports are in compliance with relevant regulations
• A’ Class Accountant Certification
• CFA or CPA certification
• Strong knowledge of accounting software to keep track of investments, taxes and other important data and reports
• Proficient user of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
• Excellent knowledge of the English language, both written and oral
• Organisation and time management skills
• Analytical and mathematical skills
• Attention to detail
