The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) is a strategic energy infrastructure project traversing Greece, Albania and Italy for 878km. The project promotes economic development and job creation along the pipeline route and recruits eligible candidates for vacancies within the organisation.
TAP is the European leg of the Southern Gas Corridor and will transport natural gas from the Shah Deniz II field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to Europe, thus enhancing energy security in the EU and contributing to both the decarbonisation of local economies and the diversification of gas supplies.
TAP is a high-pressure pipeline that will initially transport 10bcm/a of natural gas at 95 barg – capacity responding to the energy consumption of ca. 7 million households in Europe. It connects with the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) at the Turkish-Greek border in Kipoi and crosses northern Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before coming ashore in Southern Italy.
TAP’s route can facilitate gas supply to South Eastern Europe, while its landfall in Italy provides multiple opportunities for further transport of Caspian gas to the wider European markets. First gas deliveries to Europe via TAP are expected to start in 2020.
In parallel with the completion of the project, work is also under way for the Operations phase. There are therefore several opportunities across various professional disciplines, as TAP is building the competent Operations team to take the project beyond 2020.
