PeopleCert is seeking an experienced professional to lead the Accounting function and ensure the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of all financial operations across the organization.
As a Head of Accounting your tasks will include the following:
- Leading and overseeing the entire Accounting function for all group entities, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance in all financial reporting activities.
- Managing the full accounting cycle, including General Ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, in accordance with IFRS and/or applicable local GAAP.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Leading external and internal audit processes and acting as the primary liaison with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
- Designing, implementing, and continuously improving accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
- Identifying financial and accounting risks and developing mitigation plans to safeguard the organization.
- Supervising, mentoring, and developing the accounting team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Reviewing and maintaining proper ERP setup (chart of accounts, financial parameters, reporting structures).
- Drive process improvements, automation, and system optimization.
What we look for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field will be considered an asset.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CPA) will be considered a strong advantage.
- Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within a multinational environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
- Proven experience managing audits and statutory compliance processes.
- Excellent command of the English language (Level C2); additional languages will be considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced computer literacy; ECDL Advanced level certification is desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
- Prior experience in the certification, training, or examination sector will be considered an advantage.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)
Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.
If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:
- A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
- Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
- HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
- Financial background check
- Employment reference check.
- If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.
In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
