Regulatory Affairs Manager

 

The Regulatory Affairs Manager will report to the Head of the Legal Division and will become a key part of our Management Team. The energy regulatory frameworks are rapidly evolving in response to the challenging security of supply and energy transition agenda. Understanding the complex regulatory environment in Greece and in the EU, translating regulations into winning and defensive commercial structures, influencing the shaping up of new policies and regulations affecting the energy supply and production chains will be key success factors for Volton S.A.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the accomplishment of the Regulatory Affairs function objectives (energy markets wholesale, retail, RES)
  • Managing regulatory activities of the company
  • Assist in data collection for market registration, project participation in energy and capacity markets
  • Represent Volton in relevant trade and industry associations and their committees and working groups
  • Particularly for new business activities or customer value propositions, provide support to the business in identifying relevant rules and regulations and establishing efficient and effective processes so that business is conducted in full compliance
  • In charge of technical assessments of projects (Auditing and Screening) in cooperation with the relevant corporate departments (energy & supply, legal, finance)
  • Communicating with the Authorities (RAE, DEDDIE, etc)
  • Handling of responses to Authorities liked to initial submissions, variations or renewals

Necessary qualifications:

  • BSc degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. This could include science and technology, environmental management, economics or social and political sciences (legal field)
  • Additional post graduate qualification in relevant subject, will be considered an asset
  • Relevant experience in the energy industry with proven competencies in policy development, advocacy and regulatory affairs
  • An awareness of subsurface uncertainty and risk management
  • Experience in applying and assuring compliance with regulations
  • Knowledge of national and state policy development and legislation
  • Knowledge of energy markets. Especially transmission and trading
  • Fluent in English with excellent MS 365/Office skills

  • Critical-thinking skills, intellectual curiosity, excellent communication skills, in order to be able to clearly explain policies, policy impacts, and recommendations in both spoken and written formats to many different audiences, including colleagues in the company, external stakeholders, team members and policy makers
  • Effective communication and relationship management
  • Team working spirit, capable of handling tasks efficiently and under minimal supervision
  • Ability to work equally well independently or as member of a team
  • Ability to deliver high quality work, in a timely manner and to specific deadlines
