Job Description

Position: Purchasing Manager
Reporting: General Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated procurement service on behalf of our team, guests, and suppliers
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations
• Responsible for sourcing suppliers and coordinating orders on behalf of departmental teams
• Ensure that par stock levels are maintained across the business
• Must show flexible and adaptive hands-on approach to lead and guide a team in the sourcing of general products and perishable goods
• Meticulous eye for detail
• Ensure that all orders are within operating budgets and that suppliers’ offer the best negotiated prices for all products
• Superior communication and negotiation skills
• Manage suppliers’ relationships on behalf of the business
• Preparation of reports and journals for budgeting, stock taking and inventory control
• Implement Health & Safety policies and practices across the division

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior purchasing, procurement or buying role, gained within a large, multi-outlet 5-star luxury hotel or similar luxury restaurant group, or retail company
• A solid understanding or food & drink with a good knowledge of restaurant scene
• Strong Negotiation & Buying skills
• Your grooming should be immaculate and communication skills exceptional, to flawlessly connect with clients and colleagues from all over the world - a fluent level of spoken and written English is essential
• Exceptional attention to detail is essential, as well as strong numerical skills
• Competent in Excel, Word and some exposure to purchasing/procurement software would be considered as a plus
• A good knowledge of Protel would also be beneficial
• Well-presented and professional appearance.
• Must have flexible hours.
• Must be able to work in a team environment
