RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES (Greece)

The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC Greece) is seeking an Executive Director to act as an ambassador for the House and build relationships in the community to raise funds and donor support for the House and its mission.

Based in Athens and reporting to the Chairman of the Board while being accountable to the Board of Administrators, the Executive Director has overall strategic and operational responsibility for RMHC programmes, as well as the expansion and execution of its mission.

This is a unique opportunity for a candidate with the ability and enthusiasm to set an ambitious strategic course for a start-up charity and to champion its mission to benefactors and the broader community.

 

THE CHARITY

 RMHC Greece will be set up in the first quarter of 2023 with the aim of “creating, funding and supporting programmes that directly improve the health and well-being of children.”

RMHC Greece, seeks to be responsive to the pressing needs of children in a way that would also be aligned to the global mission and vision of RMHC Global. RMHC Greece will be overseeing the construction of a purpose-built ‘Family rooms’ to support the families for children undergoing treatment in Hospital.  The plan is to inaugurate the RMHC Family Rooms in 2023.

THE REQUIREMENTS

The preferred candidate will be a graduate in management and/or the social sciences, with strong financial acumen. Candidates will be able to demonstrate how they developed and evaluated programme models, and have the ability to seek out potential new sources of funding to sustain the House’s expanded operations.

The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills, and demonstrate an ability to develop trusting relationships across the community.

Fluency in Greek and English is a requirement.
