PeopleCert is looking for a Localisation Project Manager who will be responsible for the translation and localization management of PeopleCert’s content. This includes the localization of core content as well as supporting assets (marketing, website, comms, etc.). The role also includes the process of selecting suitable translators and Subject Matter Experts for all our products, as well as ensuring the translated material meets agreed quality standards.

As a Localisation Project Manager, your tasks will include the following:

  • Manage third-party vendors for the provision of translation, localization, and transcreation of content
  • Plan, Schedule & Monitor translation projects
  • Coordinate the review of translated material
  • Use and apply principles, and methods and effectively manage/coordinate the projects under your responsibility from initiation through to delivery and support other team members in managing their projects, where needed
  • Determine resource requirements and optimal cost structure for projects based on project objectives and operational needs


What we look for:

  • 5 years’ experience in a translation agency environment as a project manager
  • Translator qualification or MSc in translation studies will be an asset
  • Web localization and transcreation project coordination experience
  • Experience in managing multiple projects concurrently to time and budget
  • Good understanding of CAT tools, MT, and TMS (XTM will be an asset)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English is required (C2 level certification desired, LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate would be also a plus) as well as at least one other language (with a particular interest in Japanese, German, Chinese)
  • Proficiency in handling files in multiple formats (MS Office, InDesign, etc) with a particular interest in file engineering
  • Knowledge of Best Practice methodologies will be a plus (PRINCE2, Scrum, ITIL, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, prioritisation, and organisation skills
  • Able to build successful relationships with external suppliers across the world and ensure tasks are delivered on time
  • Self-starter, proactive, and attention to detail

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:

  • A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity, and place of residence)
  • HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter-Terrorist Check (CTC)
  • Financial background check
  • Employment reference check
  • If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK

In addition, if the personnel is required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in the English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
