System/Network/IoT Engineer
As a member of the i-SENSE group you will be developing innovative solutions for a broad range of domains.
Requirements
- University Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- Knowledge of computer architecture concepts
- Advance knowledge of English (oral & written)
- Experience in collaborative research projects (e.g. H2020) is considered a plus
Desired Skills and Knowledge
- Programming languages: C/C++, Python, Java
- Linux Operating System (daemons, resources, directory structures, deployment of applications, security etc.)
- Communication protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP etc.), IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, AMQP, Kafka, etc.) and security standards.
- Wireless communication systems (Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth, LoRa, GPS/GNSS etc)
- TCP/IP based networking and network analysis tools (e.g. Wireshark)
- General backend development (SQL, RESTful APIs etc.)
- Software and hardware failure investigation and debugging methods
Nice to have
- Advanced knowledge of systems architecture (processor architecture, compiler design, ABIs, linux kernel)
- Embedded Linux based development
- Integrating devices at the Edge or Gateway positions in an IoT technology stack
- Deploying embedded and IoT solutions (hardware, operating systems, applications, cloud services etc.)
- Performance-oriented programming (algorithmic and platform-dependent optimization, parallel computing, real-time programming, digital signal processing etc.)
- Virtualization and containerization (VirtualBox, VMware, Docker etc.)
- Network wiring (coaxial cables, UTP, USB etc.).
- 5G architecture and terminology (SDR, MANO etc.)
- Network virtualization and Software Defined Networks (OpenDaylight, OpenVSwitch etc.)
- Software versioning tools (Git etc.)
- Experience in translation of end-user requirements into SW requirements
