About the role

As Timac Agro | LYDA’s Accounting Associate you will be part of a growing finance team, reporting to the Chief Accountant and working closely with the local management team ensuring accurate bookkeeping and compliance with local rules and regulations.

This is a maternity cover role for minimum 12 months. At the end of the maternity cover period, depending on the company’s needs and the individual’s performance, there may be opportunities for the person to continue in the same or different role within the organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Timely issuance of sales invoices and credit notes and emailing to the customers
• Posting of supplier invoices (expenses and fixed assets) using relevant cost centres ensuring proper approvals are granted
• My data – review of proper upload of sales and expense invoices
• Review of expense claim reports in accordance with company policy and posting of expenses in the relevant GL accounts
• Reconciliation of supplier balances monthly
• Reconciliation of fixed assets register with GL monthly
• Initiation and implementation of enhanced processes to achieve efficiencies and optimisation of resources in the accounting department
• Preparation of the statutory financial statements under Greek GAAP

Qualifications / Skills:

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or similar areas
• 1-3 years of similar working experience in accounting or finance department or in an audit firm. Experience in Big 4 will be considered as an asset
• Good knowledge of MS Office suite, mainly excel
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to communicate fluently in English and Greek
• Experience in the use of ERP, preferably SAP
