Senior Mechanical Engineer – Designer in Athens

Scope

The Senior Mechanical Engineer – Designer leads the development of innovative mechanical and electromechanical products, leveraging extensive expertise to meet and exceed customer requirements. This pivotal role involves conducting comprehensive research, advanced testing, and the implementation of state-of-the-art manufacturing and assembly techniques.

Primary Responsibilities

• Spearheads the development of intricate mechanical and electromechanical products, meticulously analyzing and incorporating customer specifications, while conducting advanced research and testing of cutting-edge manufacturing and assembly methodologies.
• Assumes responsibility for the creation, maintenance, and oversight of comprehensive technical documentation and meticulous management of products’ Bills of Materials.
• Validates system and product capabilities through the design and execution of rigorous feasibility studies and testing protocols, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Drives innovation in manufacturing processes by conceptualizing and refining equipment designs for fabricating, constructing, assembling, and installing components with a focus on efficiency and precision.
• Upholds the highest standards of system and product quality assurance through the development of robust testing methodologies, meticulous evaluation of finished products, and meticulous oversight of fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
• Prepares comprehensive product reports by collating, analyzing, and synthesizing data and trends gleaned from extensive testing and evaluation.
• Provides expert engineering insights and support by promptly addressing inquiries and requests with precision and clarity.
• Guides and mentors technicians, facilitating their professional development and ensuring the successful completion of projects.
• Remains at the forefront of professional and technical knowledge by actively participating in educational workshops, staying abreast of industry publications, cultivating professional networks, and engaging with relevant professional societies.
• Actively contributes to team success by achieving related objectives and providing expert guidance and support as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a Polytechnic School; a Master’s Degree is highly desirable.
• Extensive previous experience in a Machine Shop environment in an engineering capacity is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of at least 5 years in advanced mechanical design, with expertise in the design of sheet metal and plastic components.
• Proven proficiency in 2D and 3D design software, with an emphasis on "SolidWorks" or equivalent platforms.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
• Proficient in MS Office suite.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of working time.
