Regional Sales Manager-Primary Producers
POSITION DESCRIPTION & POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Ingenia Polymers is a provider of products and services to the polymer resin producer (PP, PE, PS) and downstream conversion market.  Ingenia has developed a reputation as an industry leader in technology and service since 1986 through its existing facilities in Canada and the USA and sales offices in Mexico, Brazil, the UK and Greece.  Ingenia is expanding globally and recently started up a large scale polymer compounding, masterbatch and additive preblends facility in Jubail Industrial City in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is seeking highly motivated candidates to participate in this endeavour.  This is an opportunity to become a part of a dynamic team in a high growth market. 

                The regional sales manager handles sales of primary producers products (SupeblendsTM, compounds, ground powders and other services provided) to polyolefin producers in the GCC and export markets in cooperation with regional teams of customer service and technical service personnel in KSA.  This position serves as the senior management focal point and is assigned the GCC and export region, where he/she is responsible for market penetration and growth of revenue aligned with the company’s strategy.   This includes preparation and implementation of sales strategy, budgeting, an understanding of the competitive environment and managing the entire sales cycle from prospecting new customers to increasing sales volumes and delivery of existing customers. Provides exceptional customer service to ensure customer contract requirements are met.  Finally makes sure to provide technical service to customers that need it (through the use of Tech Service Engineer and/or KSA Lab facilities).

Strategic Contribution:

As a member of the Marketing Management team, contributes towards the formulation of marketing strategies and development of sales strategy and its implementation.

Leadership:

  • Ensure the effective achievement of sales objectives through assisting commercial manager in leadership of the sales team by
    • Taking charge of major account business segments
    • Setting objectives for each account
    • Developing sales staff (customer service, tech service) via providing technical guidance and mentoring the selling process.
  • Provide formal and informal feedback to commercial manager for appraisal process in order to ensure highest level of performance achieved.

Budgeting & Cost Control:

  • Develop the sales budgeting and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and potential performance improvement opportunities are initiated.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Liaise with key influential contacts at important strategic customers to broaden the relationship, improve communications and ensure satisfaction
  • Ensure customer service, technical service, accounting, logistics feel part of the sales execution team

Grow Sales,  Execute sales agreements

  • Participate in industry / customer events and conferences to promote Ingenia brand
  • Sponsor new business opportunities and shepherd through the gate process
  • Develop pricing strategy for new business and decision basis for pricing issues on existing business
  • Lead the development of  supply contracts and licensing agreements with potential customers  and work with senior management for final approval

Resolution of internal Issues

  • Support Sales team in resolving  issues with other group managers within the company  that are barriers to success  (e.g. R&D  scheduling priorities, manufacturing quality , customer complaint resolution etc)
  • Ensure customer service, technical service, accounting, logistics feel part of the sales execution team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • MBA an asset.

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 - 10 years progressive industrial sales and/or technical service experience preferably in the field of polyolefins, polyolefin masterbatches or compounds or preferably polyolefin additives such as phenol and phosphate antioxidants, stearates, neutralizers, hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), UV absorbers, nucleators etc. 
  • Experience dealing with large customers at executive levels.  Must be able to communicate and work across many levels at target customers from executive level, to procurement, to plant process engineers, R&D and technical service as it relates to supply, performance and development of polymer additives, blends, and compounds for polyolefin production. 
  • Experience in working cross functional issues in a dynamic manufacturing organization.
  • Experience in leading teams.

Extensive overnight travel is required (50%-80% travel).
